KoboWise
Learn About Money. Understand the Market. Start Early.
Most young people hear about investing long before they understand how it works. KoboWise is being built to change that.
We want to make financial education simple, practical and accessible to young Nigerians, especially those who have never been taught how money, saving, investing or the stock market really work.
Through easy-to-follow lessons and hands-on practice using real-world market information, KoboWise helps young people build financial knowledge at their own pace, without needing to risk their own money. You don't need to be a finance expert to get started. You just need to be willing to learn.
KoboWise is an ongoing development project. Features described on this page are planned unless stated otherwise.
Financial knowledge shouldn't come too late.
Many people only begin learning about money after they have started earning, made expensive mistakes or missed opportunities they didn't know existed.
For young people, financial terms can feel confusing. Stocks, dividends, market prices, investment risk and financial planning are often explained in ways that assume everyone already understands the basics.
But where does someone who knows nothing about investing begin? That is the question KoboWise wants to answer.
We believe young people should have the opportunity to understand how money works early in life, before they are expected to make important financial decisions.
Not everyone will become an investor, and that is fine. The goal is to help people understand their options, recognise risks and make more informed choices about their financial future.
Learn it simply. See it in practice.
KoboWise combines straightforward financial education with practical experiences that help learners connect what they read to what happens in the real world.
Financial Literacy Made Simple
Learn about saving, budgeting, investing, financial risk and long-term planning without complicated financial language, using everyday examples that make sense to young Nigerians.
Understand the Stock Market
Learn what stocks are, why companies issue shares, what causes prices to change and how financial markets operate. Explore how these ideas work in practice rather than memorising definitions.
Practise Without Risking Real Money
KoboWise is designed to let users practise investing with virtual funds while following real-world stock prices, so they can observe market movements without putting savings at risk.
Learn from Real Companies
Rather than teaching investing only through imaginary examples, KoboWise connects learning to publicly traded companies and real market information.
Learn at Your Own Pace
Financial education shouldn't feel like an examination. KoboWise is designed around clear explanations, approachable lessons and opportunities to practise as often as needed.
From curious beginner to confident learner.
KoboWise is about learning how to think about financial decisions, not telling people which stocks to buy.
Starting where we are.
KoboWise is being developed with Nigeria at the centre of its mission. We want young Nigerians to learn about money and investing through examples, markets and experiences that are relevant to them. The initial direction focuses on:
The platform's educational content and market coverage will expand progressively. The United States stock market is part of the longer-term expansion plan. Nigeria first. Broader markets over time.
You don't need experience to begin.
KoboWise is designed to meet learners where they are, without assuming they already have financial knowledge.
A growing financial learning platform.
Virtual stock investing is one way to learn, but KoboWise's long-term vision goes further. We want to build a platform where young people can continue learning about different aspects of personal finance and economic participation.
Personal Money Management
Understanding income, expenses, budgeting, saving and responsible financial habits.
Investment Education
Learning about stocks, investment risk, diversification, dividends and long-term financial planning.
Financial Decision-Making
Understanding how to evaluate financial opportunities, recognise warning signs and avoid decisions based only on hype.
Market Education
Making financial news, company information and market movements easier for beginners to understand.
Interactive Learning
Developing quizzes, learning challenges, guided exercises and other tools that make financial education engaging.
Broader Market Coverage
Expanding beyond the initial Nigerian focus to include additional markets, beginning with the United States as integrations become available.
These are areas of planned development, not a claim that every feature is already available.
Empowering young people through financial knowledge.
KOGA Faith Foundation believes that community development includes giving people the knowledge and opportunities they need to build better futures. Financial education is an important part of that. A young person who understands saving, financial risk and investing is better prepared to approach financial decisions thoughtfully.
KoboWise supports KOGA's Leadership and Economic Development pillar by making practical financial knowledge more accessible to young people. Through this initiative, we hope to introduce financial education earlier in life, make investing concepts less intimidating, encourage responsible money management, help young people understand financial opportunities and risks, promote patience, research and long-term thinking, and give beginners a safe environment to practise what they learn.
Our goal is not to promise wealth or encourage speculative trading. It is to help young people develop the knowledge and confidence to make their own informed decisions.
Starting small. Building for the future.
KoboWise is an ongoing project that will continue to grow as we learn from users, improve the platform and introduce new educational experiences. Our roadmap, in order of focus:
Virtual trading is for learning only. It does not involve real money or real investments. KoboWise is not being built around a single event or short-term campaign. It is intended to be a continuously improving educational platform.
Help more young people understand money.
Financial knowledge can influence decisions people make throughout their lives. KoboWise welcomes opportunities to connect with educators, youth organisations, schools, financial literacy advocates and potential development partners who share this goal.
