Light of the Mind Project

Jehoshua Otuya is a DC-based filmmaker, storyteller, and mental health advocate. He is the International Executive Director of Koga Faith Foundation and the Founder of the Light of the Mind Project, a film-based mental health awareness initiative that uses storytelling, cinema, and community dialogue to address stigma, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and emotional wellness. Through documentary filmmaking, narrative film, and public engagement, Jehoshua works to create meaningful conversations that break stigma, inspire healing, and strengthen communities. His work combines the power of film advocacy, using stories to bring awareness to mental health challenges and encourage hope, resilience, and recovery.

Dr. Damien Myers is the Founder & CEO of PrimeMed Academy, an innovative organization dedicated to equipping future healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead with excellence and compassion. A healthcare leader, educator, and advocate, Dr. Myers is passionate about expanding access to quality education, mentorship, and career development in the health sciences. Through PrimeMed Academy, he is creating pathways of opportunity that empower individuals to transform their lives and strengthen communities.

Gbenga Ogunjimi is a community leader and advocate dedicated to strengthening connections between African diaspora communities, institutions, and future generations. As Executive Director of the Nigerian Center, he works to promote cultural engagement, educational advancement, economic empowerment, and civic participation across the region. Through his leadership, the Nigerian Center has become a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and community impact, creating opportunities that celebrate heritage while fostering meaningful partnerships with public, private, and nonprofit organizations. Gbenga is passionate about empowering individuals and families through education, mentorship, and community-centered initiatives that encourage belonging, leadership, and long-term growth.

Dr. Erikk Bonner is the Assistant State Superintendent for the Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), where he leads with a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve meaningful, independent lives. With extensive experience in public service, rehabilitation policy, and organizational leadership, Dr. Bonner is a passionate advocate for equity, inclusion, and accessible opportunities for all. He believes in the power of purpose, partnership, and compassion to transform lives and strengthen communities.
